Back on May 20th, 60 Minutes, broadcasted a heartfelt and interesting story by Lesley Stahl, about Nicholas Negroponte and his dream of every child having a laptop. Negroponte figured children from the most impoverished places – from deserts and jungles and slums could become educated and part of the modern world-- giving poor kids new possibilities. Two years ago Negroponte founded the non-profit organization, "One Laptop Per Child", and his dream is now becoming a reality... Starting November 12, "One Laptop Per Child" will be offering a Give 1 Get 1 Program for a brief window of time in North America. For $399, you will be purchasing two XO laptops—one that will be sent to empower a child to learn in a developing nation, and one that will be sent to your child at home. You can also donate a laptop. For more information see xogiving.org and to see the 60 Minutes story click here.
